Finding Child-like Faith

“…whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it” (Mark 10:15b ESV).

Relearning to be a child is much harder than it seems. It requires us to throw out the conceptions of the world that we have been taught, that we have been influenced by, and that we have knowingly accepted.   There is no room in the house for status quo and logic. Those are shooed out the windows. The “if’s, and’s, but’s” are firmly requested to leave. Experience comparisons are politely boxed and stacked in the attic. All that may remain in the house is truth. By it, the house is remodeled, piece by piece.

But then the windows and doors come open and the house gets worn again. Things are spilled. Pipes begin to rust. Floorboards will creak.

But the remodeling continues. Tiles get replaced. Furniture gets reupholstered. Walls get repainted.
