Hi, faithful readers (or first time wanderer)!
Things have been settling down into routine quite nicely and the first round of midterms are coming around. The libraries are bustling, the dorms are quiet, and people are busy. I have a midterm on Monday and a presentation in Mandarin too, but this weekend is a little packed already so I’m a little nervous. Saturday, a few local friends (all public health majors, yah!) are taking me to the island Cheung Jau (长洲) just off of HK island, I think.
No really interesting photos since my life has been just pretty routine, but I have some routine photos. Just now I did some laundry and hit the library to study.
I know that doesn’t look like a lot of clothes, but the machines are a little smaller here and I really needed to use some of the t’s in there. I realized that I only have 2-3 shirts and 2 shorts that I can work out in…boo.
Study mode in my room. I’m currently studying for my Chinese Literature class. We went through most of the ancient poetry and fountainhead writings. Next up are the 4 classic tales including the Monkey King, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, and Dream of Red Mansions. I’m looking forward to those =]
Below is a random food finding, Pontikege. The texture is super different than most things you’ve had and it doesn’t taste like expected on first glance. I think Jonathan brought them to the Superbowl party for a KIBC fellowship and ever since I was intrigued. Then, my sista Katie found them in a bakery so surprised me with them (thanks, girl!).
In a little bit I’m going to hopefully run the hills to the track with some friends. Oh running… but every time I’m done I feel like I’ve scored one for Jesus because the whole long stretch I really pray.
I think next year I’m going to institute a mandatory weekly mile run for the Area Team, I’m not kidding. I’ve learned that discipline is very necessary and doing it physically helps to understand it spiritually as well. For all you athletes out there, major kudos!
